Oregon Sunstone
One of the unique properties of Oregon Sunstone is known as schiller, or schiller effect. This occurs when particles of copper are suspended and aligned within the crystal matrix of the feldspar. The results are bright flashes of copper shining from within the gems when oriented to light. This effect together with the bright red, orange, and green colors of Oregon Sunstone, and Larry’s flowing organic shapes, produce some of the most beautiful and unique of gem carvings.
